Anansi Ventures invests in, and provides business advisory support to, startup and emerging social entrepreneurs centering social impact throughout the African Diaspora as a core business objective.
WHAT IS SOCIAL IMPACT?
Anansi Ventures invests resources with and advises organizations that share a commitment to positive social impact in and across the African Diaspora. The Centre for Social Impact (CSI) defines “Social Impact” as the net effect of an activity on a community and the well-being of individuals and families. We believe in the pursuit of social entrepreneurs from all sectors to build sustainable solutions measuring success through social impact.
WHY IS SOCIAL IMPACT IMPORTANT?
Anansi Ventures promotes a systems approach to improving social impact through government, business and social sectors. Both activity and inactivity have long-term effects on communities, therefore we examine how the interventions, activities, products and services of partner-businesses will impact African Diasporan communities and broader local, regional and global societies to measure impact success.
We believe that businesses are simultaneously members, partners and leaders with local communities. They are accountable to driving positive social impact through each of those roles and responsibilities.
Systemic issues are long-term, complex and inclusive. Therefore, we partner with businesses that are invested in effecting change that is community-committed and sustainable.
